Services for Insurance and Reinsurance Companies Background Asia provides a number of services to insurance and reinsurance companies.  For general insurers we assist with claims investigation for fidelity, BBB and D&O claims.  For life insurers we conduct agency risk reviews and agent background checks, as well as investigating agency defections, sharp selling practices and alleged malfeasance issues.  For reinsurers we have investigated a number of allegations of non disclosure.  Fidelity, BBB and D&O claims are complex and sensitive issues with large amounts often at stake. In these circumstances insurers need more than just a loss adjuster, more than an accounting firm, more than a private investigator. Background Asia has experienced financial investigators who gather intelligence, collect evidence and get to the bottom of what really happened, how much was lost and who was involved. Life insurance is a challenging market in Asia.  On the one hand, the region presents insurers with enormous growth opportunities.  On the other hand, their are continuing instances of malfeasance, mass defections and sharp selling practices.  Working closely with our strategic alliance partner, EQ Group, we assist life companies quantify the risks assocatiated with their agency business and respond to threats, walkouts and allegations of malfeasance. We have conducted a number of global, regional and country specific reinsurance investigations relating to possible non disclosure or fraud.  We work closely with legal counsel during these complex intelligence gathering assignments.   Claims Investigations Background Asia assists our insurance company and reinsurance company clients by: Conducting discreet claim investigations Supporting and conducting formal claim investigations Assisting with quantification of loss (including accounting reviews of the loss calculation and vouching to supporting documentation) Assisting with recovery including asset searches and asset recovery programs Background Asia has completed insurance claim inquiries across the region in a number of different industries. Our financial investigators are supported by staff with formal accounting qualifications so that we can complete most elements of an inquiry that involve quantification of loss or evaluation of the accounting information so often part of the facts of a fraud inquiry. As we have considerable experience in both fraud investigation and commercial intelligence gathering, including asset searches and background checks, we are able to quickly evaluate the circumstances of a fidelity or BBB claim and provide advice on the facts that will assist our clients evaluate the loss in relation to a claim. In addition to fidelity and BBB claims, we have also investigated a number of 'questionable death' claims in the Asian region.  These are cases where the circumstances of the claim made on an insured's life policy is such that a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the death is required.  Frequently these inquiries involve investigations in remote locations.
